I would like to put forth a proposal for a public transportation of Electric Monorail. Much like the one found in Seattle (pictured right) . I would propose for it to be a regional wide project connecting not only areas in iMemphis but also reaching into iDesotoCounty and even West iMemphis. It could have such stops as the Airport, UofiM, Graceland, Beale Street, St. Jude, Germantown, Cordova. Fairgrounds, Midtown, Rhodes. I would like it to be above ground at certain locations such as Downtown iMemphis, but it can also transition into below ground subway rail for other areas like Germantown, or East iMemphis.
We should take bids for competing contracts, and the best bid will get the job. I would not be opposed to having this a private venture, so that iTaxpayers will foot the bill; but I am willing to work with the iCouncil to find the best solution.
